Steve Wozniak warns against war on patents
The Co-founder of Apple , Steve Wozniak , took a position in an interview with an Australian newspaper about the dangers of the war being fought on patents more often among the giants of technology .
In an interview with Australian newspaper The Australian Financial Review , Steve Wozniak , does not mince his words. For him, most of the major high-tech companies do not actually create real innovations ... The causes reside in the wars in which they are engaged in justice that hinder innovation and, in the first place, the start-up . He said, in fact, that " Companies that want to create high-tech devices are forced to commit much of their capital resources to buy unused patents ... "
Wozniak recalls how he and Jobs had the first patent litigation in 1977, when they realized that RCA had already patented the process that translates the letters in dots:
Only a huge company with huge sums of money could afford to invest in research, as it would never be able to get a low cost product, which correspond with you at that time ... We actually had to pay two dollars for each RCA to computer We sold just for this simple idea ... this is what stops young people who are preparing to enter the world of technology ....
Woz laying emphasis on large companies such as, Facebook , Twitter and Yahoo! have been created by young thinkers with new ideas that did not have to face a war with the patent office as it does today in the start-up:
I am personally very interested in young people who have some innovative ideas and want to realize their business but these days, with this patent situation, there are some categories that are severely blocked because the big companies want to ensure the ownership of all ....
He then goes on exposing and tablet computers speech by saying that even if some say that we are in ' the post-PC, all of us still continue to use computers, and they certainly will not cease to exist because of the tablet:
Although we are moving towards a world purely mobile, I think there will still be room for the PC. For some jobs, such as editing audio or visual, requires the entire machine and a bigger screen. The mobile device is ideal for most of the operations that we do with our computer, but not for all ...
Steve Wozniak talking ends of the Apple CEO, Tim Cook, arguing that it is still too early to judge its contribution, as only between a minimum of 3 years will see its influence on Apple products ...
